How to get to OCU or your hotel in Taichung

The easiest way to get to Taichung from Taoyuan International Airport or Kaoshiung International Airport is to take the High Speed Rail (HSR) to HSR Taichung station. From there take a taxi (approx. EUR 8). Print out the map to your left and show the driver the Chinese address. If you prefer to go to your hotel first, make sure you have the address in Chinese, since not all taxi drivers understand English.

A more economic way of getting from Taoyuan International Airport to Taichung is taking a bus (see below).

Taoyuan International Airport 

Taiwan High Speed Rail: Take a shuttle bus (less than EUR 1) to HSR Taoyuan Station, where single or return tickets to HSR Taichung station can be bought. The trip to Taichung takes around 40 minutes. A single ticket costs less than EUR 15.

Low budget bus services: At the airport there are three bus companies offering transportation services to Taichung. See here. FreeGo Bus company has buses every 30mins. Tickets are sold for NT$ 200 to 240 each, which is less than US$ 10. It takes about two hours to drive to Taichung. In Taichung, get off at Chaoma station and take a taxi to your hotel for about US$ 5-8.

Kaoshiung International Airport: Take the KRTC Metro (subway) to Zuoying (single ticket about EUR 1). At Zuoying Station change to High Speed Rail (HSR Zuoying Station). Take HSR to HSR Taichung Station. Single tickets are available for about EUR 20. Tickets can be bough directly at HSR Zuoying Station.
